Robert Griesing Obituary
Toms River, NJ - Robert P. Griesing, 80, of Toms River, NJ passed away on July 28th, 2018 in Toms River, NJ.
Robert was born in Hazleton, PA on May 23, 1938. He graduated from Bloomsburg University with a BS and M Ed. He married Ann Marie Barilla on August 21, 1965 in Hazleton, PA. Robert was employed by Toms River Regional School District from 1965-1994 as a teacher and then Social Studies Supervisor. He is a veteran of the United States Army. Robert was member of Principals and Supervisors Association of NJ, New Jersey Education Association and the Toms River Education Association. He was avid golfer and instilled a love of learning in his children and grandchildren. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren pursue their talents.
Robert is preceded in death by his father Peter Griesing, his mother Lottie Griesing and his brother Eugene.
Robert is survived by his wife of 53 years Ann Marie; his daughter Karyn (Kevin) Cassidy of Toms River, NJ; his son Keith (Tara) Griesing of Smithtown, NY and his sister Joan Borison of Del Ray Beach, FL. Robert has 5 grandchildren-Julia, Jillian, Aidan Griesing and Kallie and Kayley Cassidy and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Thursday August 2, 2018 for a Memorial Gathering from 6-8pm with a 7pm Service at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 145 St. Catherine Blvd. Toms River, NJ. Burial of cremated remains will be on Friday August 3, 2018 at 9:30am in the Chapel of the BG William C Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.ryanfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Robert's name to the Veterans Administration Medical facilities at www.volunteer.va.gov/apps/volunteernow/#learnmore. And The National Kidney Foundation at kidney.org.

Bob and my grandmother were both born in Hazleton, PA. Sorry we couldnt have gotten another round of golf in. Will always remember working together in Toms River Schools. Ginnie and I wish Ann Marie and the kids the best in remembering a great guy. Ron and Ginnie Willetts

Sincere regrets on Bob's passing. Bob and I started teaching across the hall from each other in 65. We both moved to the high school the same year. We began playing golf together and enjoyed many good times at Ocean Acres Golf Course. Ginnie and I enjoyed visiting AnnMarie and children at Presidential Apartments when we were all starting our careers and family. We have such good memories.
