Fr. Robert N. Mills

MILLS, FR. ROBERT N. 77, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2006, at Sacred Heart Village Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margaret Mills; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Rose Mills; and infant brother, Leon Mills. Fr. Mills was ordained to the priesthood March 26, 1955. He served as associate pastor to the Catholic Churches of St. Theresa, St. Barnabas, St. Stephen Martyr, St. Vincent DePaul, St. Luke and St. Athanasius, and served as pastor of St. William, St. Mary (Bullitt County) and St. Clement, from where he retired in 1992. Since then, he has served as senior associate pastor at St. Martin of Tours (Flaherty) and St. Brigid (Vine Grove), living in Elizabeth, IN, and then Sacred Heart Village, Louisville. "Fr. Bob was an inspiration and fun loving person to everyone he came in contact with. He has left a dynamic impact on so many people's lives. We have all been truly blessed to have known and loved him." He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Shirley Mills; nieces and nephews, Donna White (Danny), Steve Mills (Claire), Debi Bauer (Ken), Deanna Ray (Jim), Marilyn Kirkpatrick (Mark), Brian Mills (Margaret), Karen Calvert (David); many cousins, great nieces and nephews. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Clement Catholic Church, 5431 Johnsontown Road, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Sunday at J.B. Ratterman & Sons-Southwest, 4832 Cane Run Road, and 9-10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Clement.
