Ronald Cloos Obituary
Toms River
Ronald G. Cloos (Captain Ron), of Toms River passed away at his home, Thursday, November 27, 2014 surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Buffalo, NY, and a long time resident of Toms River. He worked in sales and boating all his life. He was certified to be "Licensed United States Merchant Marine Officer" by the U.S. Coast Guard. His true love was the sea. Ron was a past Ocean County Vice-Commander of the Sons of The American Legion. He was chosen "Department of New Jersey" Son of the Year 2012. He was 2 year Past Commander of American Legion Squadron 129 of Toms River, NJ. His devotion to the remembrance of POW/MIAS was his main agenda. Ron was a 25 year member of the Point Pleasant Elks, Lodge #1698. He also became a Third Degree Mason.
He is survived by his wife Bernice Cloos, mother Phyllis Cloos of Buffalo, NY, brother Richard Cloos of Buffalo, NY and one son; Ronald Cloos Jr. of Silverton, five daughters; Cheri Wieczerak, Lisa Jackson, Melissa, Sharon, and Mary. He is also survived by seven grandsons and six granddaughters.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 30 from 1-5pm at "The Family Owned" Carmona Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main Street, Toms River. A religious service will take place at 4:30pm. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ron's name to Lustgarten Foundation, 1111 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage, NY 11714.
