Thomas A. Ward

AGE: 54 • Lake Como

Thomas A. Ward, 54, of Lake Como, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Newark, Thomas grew up in Lake Como. He was a graduate of St. Rose High School and Seton Hall University. He was a Certified Public Accountant who practiced his profession in New York City for many years.

Thomas was predeceased by his father, Thomas J. Ward. He is survived by his daughter, Rachel and his son, Thomas; his mother, Elinore Ward; his brother, Kevin Ward; four sisters, Cathy Ward, Jane Herbert, Ellen Meehan, and Dorothy Condon; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Cody.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11 at the Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South St., Manasquan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12 at St. Rose Roman Catholic Church, 603 7th Ave., Belmar. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Wounded Warriors, c/o Walter Reed Society, P.O. Box 59611, Walter Reed Station, Washington, DC 20012 in memory of Thomas A. Ward, so that others may live.
