William H. Dreyer

William H. Dreyer, 86, of Fair Play, SC, formerly of Cream Ridge, NJ, died Sunday, March 25, 2012 in Bethlehem, PA. Born March 6, 1926 in New Jersey, Bill was the son of Henry Dreyer Jr. and Helen (Ferris) Dreyer. After graduating from Freehold High School in 1943, he began his career working for his father at Dreyer Farms in Ardena, NJ and, in his spare time, flying for the Civil Air Patrol during World War II. After their marriage in 1953, he and his wife Ann (Bridgewater) Dreyer farmed their own land at Echo Acres in Allentown, NJ. Later, Bill worked for a builder, also designing the Cream Ridge house in which he and his family lived for 35 years. He retired as a master mechanic, working for Coleman Oldsmobile in Trenton, NJ and Kompact Cars in Holmeson, NJ. After their retirement, Bill and Ann took to their RV to travel all over the US and a good bit of Canada, with a home base on Lake Hartwell in South Carolina.

Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ann (Bridgewater) Dreyer; his daughter, Leslie Dreyer Kalra and son-in-law, Vivek Kalra, and grandchildren, Amiya, Marali, and Kevalin, all of Allentown, PA; his sister, Joan Wharton of Sewickley, PA, her daughters, Carol, Terry and Laurie and their families; his extended family, Gayle E. Taliaferro of Dauphin, PA, Cheryl Taliaferro of Trenton, NJ, Addison Taliaferro, Jr. and his sons, Max, Carter and Jakob of Harrisburg, PA.

All services were private. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the William H. Dreyer Memorial Fund, for the education of Amiya, Marali, and Kevalin Kalra at any Wells Fargo Bank Branch.
