Andres R. "Andy" Serna

Andres R. "Andy" Serna, passed from this earthly life and entered heaven on Sunday, October 2, 2022. He was 90 years old.

Andy was born November 18, 1931, to Pedro and Guadalupe R. Serna in Goliad, TX. He graduated from Robstown High School, Robstown, TX. He lived in the Bay area for 34 years and was a Yuba City, CA, resident for the last 30 years.

Andy served in the US Army, First Calvary, during the Korean War. He also served as a civilian at Alameda Naval Air Repair Facility and retired with 40 years of service. He worked for Lockheed Martin for 5 years in Fallon, NV.

Andy was an avid sports fan with the Giants and Oakland Raiders being his favorites, you could always find him watching a game. He served as little league coach for his sons, and played Senior and Church Softball league for years. He was an active member of Feather River Baptist Church in Linda, CA.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Guadalupe R. Serna.

Andy is survived by his wife of 30 years, Anita S. Serna; brothers, Ernesto (Carol) Serna of Orange Park, FL, and Alfredo (Lydia) Serna of Robstown, TX; sisters, Belia (Juan) Barrera of Corpus Christi, TX, and Guadalupe (Fidencio, Jr.) Lopez of Corpus Christi, TX; children and stepchildren: sons, Omar (Laura) Serna of San Jose, CA, Glen (Cathie) Serna of Fremont, CA, Andy (Liz) Garcia of Bandera, TX, John (Tina) Garcia of Rio Linda, CA, and Freddy (Becci) Garcia of Yuba City, CA; daughters, Belinda (William) Dillard of Birmingham, AL, Zenia (George) Matthews of Citrus Heights, CA, Eunice (Andrew) Boger of Yuba City, CA, and Niomi (Johnny Ray) Rodriguez of Yuba City, CA; 27 grandchildren, and 45 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from 10am-12pm, with Memorial Service from 12:30-1:30pm, and graveside and Honors at 2pm, at Sierra View Mortuary and Memorial Park, 4900 Olive Ave., Olivehurst, CA.
