Dan Higgins

Daniel, "Dan," or "Danny," Higgins, 73, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 2, 2025, in Marysville, CA, surrounded by loved ones.

Born May 31, 1952, in Yuba City, CA, Dan was a devoted husband, proud father, and beloved grandfather.

He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman at Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri, during the Vietnam war.

Dan was a heavy equipment operator for Pacific Gas & Electric Company for 32 years, where he was known for his work ethic, craftsmanship and mentorship.

Beyond his work, he found joy in many things, including working the land, hunting, fishing, rebuilding classic pickups, growing incredibly tasty tomatoes and peaches and having fun with grandkids.

He never missed a chance to lend a hand if you needed it or to make you smile with a bit of banter.

He is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Dianne Higgins; brother, Ron Higgins; children and their spouses, Heather and Mor Miller, and Russell and Michelle Higgins; and his six cherished grandchildren, Sage, Sofia, Maya, Luke, Tyler, and Rayna. He also leaves behind extended family and many dear friends whose lives were brighter because of him.

Dan was preceded in death by his mom, Bernice Stevenson; father, Ronald Higgins; and three siblings, Connie Higgins, Denice Higgins, and Curtis Higgins.

A graveside service to honor his life will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 11 AM, at Sierra View Memorial Park in Olivehurst, CA, with a Celebration of Life reception of storytelling at The Harvest Room at New Earth Market in Yuba City, CA, to follow.

He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his playful charm, and the way he shaped both the land and the lives of those he loved.
