Doyle Eitel Obituary

Doyle Eitel Graveside services for Doyle Eitel will be held on Thursday May 26, 2011 at 10:00 am at Glen Oaks Memorial Park in Chico. Doyle, age 90, passed away peacefully at Townsend House Assisted Living in Chico, May 22, 2011. He was born October 7, 1920 in Bethel,OK to William and Cora Eitel. He moved to Hamilton City, CA around 1933 with his mother and siblings to work in the fields. A Veteran of the U.S. Army, he fought in WWII where he was wounded in action. He moved to Princeton, CA, married June Luttrell and started a family. He went into business owning a grocery store with his long friend, Ross Campbell and also did some farming on the side. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and growing a garden every year and especially growing onions and giving them away to his friends. He liked riding around in his grey pickup while visiting all of his many friends in Princeton. Doyle is survived by his wife Adeline Eitel, two daughters Brenda Pogue (Darrell), Judy Perry, 4 grandchildren, Jim Houtman (Tracy), Michele Hoff, Jacquie Boyd, Justin Olsen, 6 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Ada Shaw, Arlene Page, Pauline Wright and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. He will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Cancer Foundation or your favorite charity. Yes, Doyle was my brother.
We spent many hours together fishing, hunting, shoping, etc.
He was a wonderful person.
I will miss him each time I visit Princeton.
