Gurmej Singh Takhar of Yuba City, CA passed away on January 17, 2009 in Yuba City.
Born on January 12, 1930 in the Village of Shankar, Punjab, Mr. Takhar was a Yuba Sutter resident for 41 years. He was a farmer and provided agriculture services.
Survivors include his wife, Gurdial Kaur Takhar of Yuba City; son Anoop Singh Takhar of Yuba City; daughter Inderjit Kaur Sahota of Fremont, CA; daughter Satinder Kaur Banga of Sacramento, CA; son Satwant Singh Takhar of Yuba City; son Kamaljit Singh Takhar of Yuba City; brother Kartar Singh Takhar of Yuba City; brother Naranjan Singh Takhar of India; and brother Hardev Singh Takhar of San Jose, CA.
He was preceded in death by his father, Karm Singh Takhar; his mother Karam Kaur Takhar; brother, Darshan Singh Takhar; son, Harinder Singh Takhar, daughter, Rajvant Kaur Takhar, and sister Kartar Kaur Takhar.
Mr. Takhar was a member of the Sikh Temple, in Tierra Buena and the Sikh Temple on Bogue Road.
Services will be at 11 am on Sunday, January 25 at Ullrey Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Manohar Singh Grewal officiating. Prayer services will be at Sikh Temple, Tierra Buena to follow.
