JoDee Kaylor Obituary

JoDee K. Kaylor, age 61, passed away peacefully on the evening of Sunday, November 5th 2023, in her home. She was born on March 1st 1962, in Yuba City to Raymond (Jim) and Geraldine (Gerry) Schamanksi. She graduated from Yuba City High School in 1980.

Throughout her career, she worked as a secretary and computer lab tech for several local school districts and organizations in the area, including April Lane Elementary, Bear River School, East Nicolaus High School, Yuba County One Stop and Yuba Gardens Intermediate where she forged lasting friendships.

JoDee had a keen eye and love for the beauty in life and nature she saw in her travels, which she expressed through her passion for photography. She took pride in capturing those perfect shots that she could cherish and later share with her loved ones. Her deep love for arts, crafts, and gardening was evident in the care and attention she gave to everything she touched and created, including the lives of those closest to her.

JoDee is survived by her husband of 22 years, Randy Kaylor; her daughters, Devin and Jaquelynn (Jaki); her sons, Kyle and Chad; her brother, Wesley (Wes); her sister, Julie (Fritz); grandchildren, Lukas, Felix, Madelynn, and Jace; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The Celebration of Life will be announced at a later time to friends and family.

JoDee worked at the high school I attended. For two years I was her TA. She was a warm, kind person. I always enjoyed the time I spent with her. RIP Jodee

I had the honor of meeting her in HS. She was out School secretary. I had struggled with shyness and had a great share of absences from school. She never once shamed me when it was time to give her my absence notes. In fact her eyes lit up and she was as kind as could be. We also crossed paths while she was working at one stop. I was in the process of trying to get help for healthcare training. She went above and beyond for me . Even if it may seem like a simple thing at the time it meant the world. Thanks Jodee . -Tony H

My mother was the best mother anybody could ask for. She loved us kids more than anything. She meant everything to me and now a piece of me is gone. I will miss my mom in a way words can't explain.

One of my favorite memories of JoDee is her coming across the street, knocking on my door, and asking if we could bake cookies. We spent a lot of time in my kitchen! Rest in peace, my sweet girl! You´ll be sorely missed!

JoDee was such a dear sweet person. I knew her from grammar school. I loved running into her over the years. She was always so joyful when she shared stories about her life and her family. I will never forget her kindness. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time.
