Marcie Virginia Houser

1951 - 2023

On October 13, 2023, Marcie Virginia Houser, passed away peacefully in her sleep.

Marcie is survived by her loving husband, Mike; children, Sean (Michelle), and Megan; her two grandchildren; and three sisters, Galye Jones, Eileen Jacobs, and Diane Edwards.

She was preceded in death by her wonderful parents, Ray and Mariam Jacobs; her sister, Carol Ann Miller; and brother, Gregory Mark Jacobs.

Marcie was born in Marysville in 1951, and spent her childhood in Yuba City. CA. She graduated from Holy Angels elementary in Yuba City and from Notre Dame High school in Marysville in 1969. She attended Yuba College and graduated with a two year degree in Accounting in 1971.

She met her husband Mike while working as a waitress at a local restaurant and Mike was a cook. They spent many fun times at the Houser houseboat at Engelbright in the summers and camping and traveling throughout the state. Mike enlisted in the Navy and they married in 1974. After Mike's enlistment, they moved to San Diego until he was discharged in 1978.

Marcie worked in the banking industry and worked her way up to being a loan officer. She worked in San Diego, Yuba City, Arcata, and retired as an administrator with Del Norte County Mental Health. Marcie worked a few years after retirement in administrative services for the Sutter County Superintendent of Schools.

Marcie spent her remaining years visiting the grandchildren (who she loved to spoil with endless gifts), traveling, and with her daughter Megan in ceramic class at the senior center.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of life, which will be held for Marcie on Friday, October 27, 2023, 2997 True Road in Yuba City. Open house from 2:30pm-5:30pm.
