Walter Pfeiffer Obituary
Walter Pfeiffer was born May 2, 1940 in Bakersfield, CA to parents Evelyn and Walter Pfeiffer.
They moved to Sacramento where Walter attended schools through 12th grade. He later graduated from the University of Nevada and went to work for CALTRANS as a civil engineer for 36 years, raising his family in Yuba City He married his wife Linda in 1980, continuing to live in Yuba City where he was an avid tennis player and charter member of the Yuba City Racquet Club. Walter and Linda retired in 1997 and traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada. Walter also enjoyed visiting with his children and grandchildren as often as possible. Fishing and snow skiing were a favorite past time as well.
Walter had been residing at Summerfield Senior Living in Yuba City since April , but became ill and passed from this world to the next on June 5, 2016. The family thanks Summerfield, Sutter Health Hospice (under the direction of Dr. Michael Blanchard), and especially Nurse Karen, for their dedication to his comfort.
Walter is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda Pfeiffer of Yuba City, CA; daughters Kimberly Ross of Sacramento, CA and Laura Kassel (Patrick) of Hampton, VA; son Todd (Jamie) Pfeiffer of Sacramento, CA; grandchildren Madison Pfeiffer and Bodie Pfeiffer of Sacramento, CA; and sister Diana Clarke of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by his brother Ed Pfeiffer of Raton, NM.
As per his wishes, there will be no funeral services. In remembrance of Walt, donations can be made to the Sutter Health Hospice and the Alzheimer Foundation.

Walter and I were in Miss Wrights class at Mark Twain elementary 5th and 6th grade. When we were in 5th grade, somehow Walter and I were selected to play a couple of Penquins in a class play. I'm sure he was somewhat embarrassed to be seen in a Penguin costume but he didn't say a thing about it. Walter was one of the good guys in our class and very polite as I recall.
We had a few classes together through Jr. High and Sacramento High.
May I extend my condolences to his family. Walter was a fine person when I knew him as a youngster. I'm sure he was a fine man, husband, father and grandfather.

Walter was a long-time (Elementary through high school) classmate of mine, and a member of the January, 1958 Sacramento High School graduation class. The class lights this candle in his honor

Walt Pfeiffer was a friend and coworker who was always knowledgeable, communicative, and conscientious of others and his work. He will be missed by his Caltrans Family. Rest In Peace Walter Pfeiffer.
