ALEXIS LOUISE SOUDERS

ALEXIS LOUISE SOUDERS Alexis Louise Souders was born July 29, 1953, in Ardmore, Okla., and passed away July 20, 2025, in Prospect Harbor, Maine, after a sudden and brief illness. The daughter of Helen Quillen and the late Lester Quillen, she attended Ardmore High School as part of the Class of 1971 and enjoyed her time as a rotary exchange student in the Philippines. She graduated from Oklahoma State University and after teaching in Walsh, Colo., went on to earn her master's degree in special education. After teaching special education in Colorado and Miami, Florida she later joined the United States Postal Service. She eventually made her way to Maine, where she proudly served as the postmaster of Gouldsboro for many years. Upon her retirement, she partnered with a friend to run several successful businesses, most importantly The Prospect Harbor Soap Company. Alexis was an active and beloved member of the Prospect Harbor Methodist Church. She is survived by her mother Helen Quillen of Ardmore, Okla., her son Benjamin (Kat) Souders and grandsons Brydon and Emmett of Prospect Harbor, Maine, and brother Stanley Quillen (Jenny) of Irving, Texas. At her request, in lieu of services, Alexis would love for you to give generously to the Schoodic Food Pantry at P.O. Box 173 Corea, ME 04624. A celebration of life will be held on September 27, 2025 between 11 am and 1 pm at the Chickasaw Lake Club in Ardmore, OK.
