I am so sorry to hear of Karl's death. He was my trumpet teacher and band director in Carroll. He was wonderful in both roles. My heart feels empty without him in it. Fortunately I played a concert with the Iowa Brass Quintet which he and his family attended so was able to tell the audience and Karl after intermission how much he'd meant to me and my career. I send blessings, peace and love to Helen and Barbara.

Mr. Rogosch was my band director at Carroll, Iowa during the 1950's. I will forever be indebted to him for his inspiration and influence in my becoming a music teacher. He was the best EVER. We all experienced the magic with him. "A teacher affects eternity, he can never tell where his influence stops" sums up Karl Rogosch.
My sympathy to his family.

Karl Rogosch was influential in so many peoples lives. I was fortunate to have been a student of his through some very exciting years. Big bands, big shows, charasmatic people. I have nothing but fond memories of these times and much of this was due to the influence and leadership of Karl Rogosch.

My band instructor at East in the early 70's. Have always kept in him my thought as a very significant influence. he taught the way I like it: tough because he cared about getting it right. He will be missed.

Karl was my first band teacher in Carroll. He was such an incredible teacher and person. He helped all of us to develop appreciation for and love of music. I also remember all the fun times he and his family had with my family when I was a little girl :)

Mr. Rogosch taught us that we could be more than we dreamed we could be. I experienced moments of sheer joy under his direction. My high school memories are band and choir. My condolences to his family. Know that this man changed many, many lives.

Karl was THE role model for all of us "kids" back in the day. I'm so happy that Allen Butcher and I were able to tell him that when the three of us got together in Sioux City in 2000. R.I.P. my friend, and keep blowing that trumpet!

Mr. Rogosch was such a special music teacher to so many, and I was one of them. He helped me to believe in myself as a musician, and I played the trumpet also. He was a man of integrity, honesty, and inspiration, and he will be missed greatly. Thank you, Mr. Rogosch, for being the passionate music teacher you were, as it could not help but brush off onto his students, too. I feel very blessed to have known Mr. Rogosch, and I will never forget him! My heart and prayers go out to the family. He will be missed so much!

God Bless,
Sharon

At a time in my life when I struggled the most with my self esteem, Mr. Rogosch was always there to make me feel worthy and special. Music was just a fragment of the gift he gave. His care was certainly a major factor in the adult I have become. Thank you, Mr Rogosch! Heaven is made all the sweeter with his arrival.
