Lucille B. Nase, 89, of Centerville, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Viborg.

Lucille Bernice Blume was born to Henry F. and Lydia (Rehnke) Blume on March 9, 1925 at Crandon Township, Spink County, SD.

Lucille was baptized on November 25, 1925 at Crandon Settlement Methodist Church. She was confirmed into the Lutheran faith on February 29, 1948 at First English Lutheran Church, Centerville. Lucille graduated from Redfield High School in 1943. She graduated from Mitchell Business College in 1944 and worked in Sioux Falls until she married. Lucille was united in marriage with Albert Otto Nase on September 21, 1947 at Redfield SD. To this union, four children were born.

Lucille and Albert farmed and milked cows near Davis, SD for many years, retiring to their home in Centerville in 1992. She was dedicated to her life on the farm. Lucille, with her warm smile, always seemed to have a freshly baked pie and would never let any of her many visitors go away hungry. After retiring, Lucille and Albert went on many trips, including Alaska, Europe, and the East and West coasts. They also spent several winters in Florida, Arizona or McAllen, TX. She enjoyed playing cards whenever she had the chance, especially with her grandchildren. Lucille was an avid gardener and judged gardening for many years at County Fairs. Lucille was a member of First Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid. She was a 64-year charter member of the Friendly Fu Extension Club.

Lucille is survived by two sons: Stanley (Teresa) of Hot Springs, SD and Ricky (Darlis Aaberg) of Brookings, SD; two daughters: Mary Lou (Michael) Rahe of Burt, IA and Joann (Richard) Vesole of Bettendorf, IA; eight grandchildren: Brandon Nase, Ashley Nase, Jennifer (Brian) Thompson, Melissa (Justin) Ochsner, Michelle Vesole, Sarah Vesole, Adam Vesole, and Zachary (Brittany) Davis; three great-grandchildren: Emma Thompson, Lucille "Lucy" Thompson, and Thaddeus Ochsner; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and seven brothers.

Services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at First English Lutheran Church, Centerville. Visitation will be 5 - 8 pm on Friday, September 5, 2014, at Wass Funeral Home, Centerville.
