David Coffman Obituary

Glouster David R. Coffman, 70 of Glouster passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 17, 2024, at his residence surrounded by family. Born April 14, 1954, in Columbus, he was the son of the late Doull "Ball" and Glenna Buchman Coffman. He was formerly employed and retired from Lempco in New Lexington. He also worked for Bishopville Water, served as a Trustee for Homer Township, and received a degree in heavy equipment from Hocking College. He was a longtime member of Athens Bible Church in The Plains where he enjoyed hearing the word of God and reading scriptures from time to time. He also enjoyed attending prayer meetings and fellowship with other believers. When David became a born-again Christian, he enjoyed reading the bible and sharing God's word with family, friends, and multiple people whom he encountered. He also enjoyed reading the true meaning of Christmas each year to his children and grandchildren and sharing the gospel as often as he could. He also enjoyed outdoor activities such as farming, gardening, and taking fishing and camping trips with his wife. Family always looked forward to "feesh" fries, as David would call it. He was an avid hunter and had a gun for every occasion.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Tammy Coffman of Glouster. He was a proud Girl Dad of five daughters, Tricia (Jason) Carano of Glouster, Misty Farley of Marietta, Mandy (Toby) Coey of Athens, Jill Richards of Glouster, and Julie (Junior) Trussell of New Concord, Ohio. A loving grandfather to 14 grandchildren, Logan, Dylan, Isaac (Sara), Nick, Maya, Kira, Kylie, Kimberly, Kayla, Emma, Jacie, Harper, Jayden, and Noah. A great grandfather to Josephine. He also has three brothers, Carl, Mike (Anta), and Ronnie (Stephanie) and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Sara; an infant brother; and aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins.

David was known for his resilience, positivity, and courage throughout his cancer trial and his love for the Lord and his family. David found comfort in "counting it all joy in the Lord" James 1:2 He was loved by everyone who knew him and will sadly be missed by all. We plan to carry on his legacy and sharing the gospel with others. We are looking forward to the day we will see him again.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all his Doctors, Nurses and Hospital staff at the James, Ohio Health, Holzer, and Ohio Health Hospice, who took exceptional care of our loved one and went above and beyond.

A celebration of David's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday December 21, 2024, at the Bishopville Church of Christ with Pastor William Hixson officiating. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster. Visitation will take place on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Contributions can be made to Athens Bible Church, c/o Sandy Gyure, PO Box 187, Glouster, Ohio 45732. Arrangements have been entrusted to Morrison Funeral Chapel. A message of comfort may be sent to the family at www.morrisonfc.com. David Coffman
