Larry Walter

RADCLIFF - Larry David Walter journeyed into his heavenly home Jan. 16, 2018 at the age of 77. Born the son of Herbert and Mildred Kennard Walter Jan. 22, 1940 in New Plymouth.
A graduate of Star Washington High School, he played high school basketball for the Union Furnace Warriors. After graduation he was employed by GE in Logan for 40 years.
He is survived by his most caring wife, Dorothy; children, David Walter, Debbie (Tim) Wykle, Diana (Jeff) Reid, Angie Grimes and Will Howard; grandchildren, Coy (Andrea) Lehman, Kyla (Tyler) Stillion, Matthew (Kayla) Kline, Samantha Cory, Whitney and DJ; numerous great-grandchildren; a great-grandchild; sister, Charlotte (Max) Dawley; Charles (Louise) Walter; very good friends known to him as an Aunt and Uncle, Lanny and Lynn Norton; many nieces and nephews; and his pets, Muffin and Baby.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Clayton Walter; sister, Jean Hawk; and Ruby, a close family friend.
Dad loved the Lord, Dorothy, his children, grandchildren and his many lunch buddies and friends around him.
He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees for many years, which we all were aware of. Lately he would wear his Yankee hat pushing his walker and singing, "We are the Warriors, Mighty Mighty Warriors." Keep singing, Dad.
Public graveside service will be Saturday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Dale Darr officiating at Asbury Cemetery, SR 278, Nelsonville.
