Bernice Bride PLUMER

1927 - 2016

Bernice Bride Plumer "Bernie", 89, passed away on November 25, 2016 after a brief illness. She was born March 26, 1927 in Lakewood, Ohio and was the youngest of three children born to John Douglas Bride and Gertrude Bair Bride. Bernie graduated from Lakewood High School before attending Purdue University where she earned a BA degree in Psychology. In 1950, she married William G. Plumer, Jr. in Cleveland, Ohio and relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. Bernie was predeceased by her siblings and Bill, her husband of thirty three years. Bernie lived an active life and was passionate about history, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Bernie was a competitive and skilled bridge player who enjoyed hosting bridge parties. She will be remembered by friends and family for her intelligence, strength, and generosity. Bernie is survived by her three children, William G. Plumer, III, his wife Ann, their children, William G. Plumer IV; Taylor N. Plumer, MD; and Elizabeth Plumer Dete, and husband Brendan; Wendy S. Plumer; and Gary W. Plumer, his wife Mary, their children, Corrinne Plumer Edwards and husband LCDR Foster USN; Angelique Plumer Ritchie and husband Taylor; Natalie Plumer and Michelle Plumer, and four great grandchildren. Additional survivors are niece, Karen Bride Kanning and husband Kevin; nephew, Douglas Bride and wife, Kim. A visitation will be held at Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt. Vernon Hwy., NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328, on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 10:00A.M. until 12:00P.M. with a private graveside service at Arlington Memorial Park.
