MANN, Bob Mr. Robert 'Bob' Mercer Mann, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died Thursday, November 17, 2016 in Oxford, GA. Bob was born in Rockdale County, Conyers, Georgia October 6, 1931. He was 85 years young. He was preceded in death by parents, O. Mercer Mann and Alice Ricks Mann; sisters, Mary Hawkins, Rachel Smith, Evelyn Potts and brother, Jack Mann. Survived by wife of 64 years, Martha Robertson Mann; daughter, Vicki Wright and husband, Murphy Marshall Wright; sons, Robert Greg Mann and wife, Kit Mann and Brian Todd Mann; grandchildren, Dwane Mann, Tatum Wright Kreis and husband, Matt Kreis, Delana Mann Kessler and husband, Mikael Kessler, Keely Wright, Alex Mann, Grace Mann, Luke Lewis and Crystal Lewis, Mark Lewis and Kimberly Lewis, Elizabeth Lewis-Quintana and Emilio Quintana; great-grandchildren, Marshall James Kreis, Andrew, Timothy and Sarah Lewis; last remaining sibling, William (Billy) Mann; sisters-in-law that were like sisters, Connie Potts and Rachel White; and a large family of nieces and nephews. Bob graduated from Conyers High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division, Judge Advocate Section in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was employed by Allied Workers Local 48. He was proud to have dedicated one year of service to the Alaskan Pipeline. During his career he was an entrepreneur starting two companies and was a land investor. Bob was an avid golfer and enjoyed all sports. He participated in golf and traveled to many states enjoying his hobby. His highlight was playing on the Augusta National Course in 1996. He also got to attend all ceremonies and events during the Olympics in Atlanta. His favorite sports team was the Georgia Bulldogs. He spent many Fall seasons traveling and tailgating with the 'Oak Tree Gang'. But nothing pleased him more than watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports and academics. He was a member of Rockdale Baptist Church where he was involved in the Loyalty Men's Class, Board of Deacons, Joyful Senior Saints Choir and Happy Hearts Group. He was a member of the Retired Educators of Rockdale County. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 21, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Dr. Jim Martin, Rev. Darrell Huckaby and Rev. Billy Moss officiating; interment will follow at Hillandale Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 2 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
