Ms. Catherine Marie Wilkins, better known as Catie, of Guyton was welcomed into Heaven on Friday, January 19, 2007, at the tender age of 4 years after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her parents, Tre' and Jenny Wilkins; grandparents, Carmen and Charlie Wilkins, Jr., Nancy Carroll, and Mike and Liz Carroll; great grandmothers, Frances Pagliarullo, Gladys Wilkins, Jo Carroll and Jean Duck; aunts and uncles, Nikki and Daniel Hardeman, John and Casey Carroll, and Chad and Tasha Stenzel; and many great aunts, great uncles and cousins. Awaiting Catie in Heaven are her great grandfathers, Charles Pagliarullo, Charles Wilkins, Sr., Cotton Carroll, Rayford Duck and cousin, Bailey Skinner. Visitation will be at Thomas C. Strickland and Sons Funeral Home in Pooler on Sunday, January 21, 2007, from 4 to 7 P.M. Her celebration of life service will be on Monday, January 22, 2007, at Immanuel Baptist Church at 11 A.M. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Abbey East. Fly free our beautiful baby girl...Heaven is yours now and is full of nothing but great things. Go sing your favorite Amy Grant song to the Father and fill His heart with joy. We will see you soon. I read of your family from Crestview Baptist. I have a very sick 4 year old daughter... My heart and prayers go out to you. I know how many blessings your daughter must have shown you, countless, I am sure. She was a gift from God, a gift like no other and she will continue to touch your lives forever. Tre' and Jenny,
How truly sorry I am to hear about Catie's passing. I just heard yesterday and even though our families attend different churches now, Jay and I were both distraught to hear the news. We can't begin to fathom your pain but wanted to offer our condolences. We will continue to keep your family in our prayers. Our God is a great God and only took Catie to relieve her pain. How wonderful it is (even though it may not seem like it now) to know that you will get to hold your angel again someday!

I have never met either of you or your family, but I feel the need to express my sorrow for you and your family at this time in your lives. I can say that my husband and I have been in your shoes, in November we lost our daughter Chloe who was only 6 months old to the side effects of AML. But it is going to sound silly right now but just remember to keep your heads up because now you truly have a guardian angel protecting you and watching over you.

I heard about Catie as I was picking my son up from Weekday Ministries one afternoon, and got to see her beautiful smile on the video they had playing for her. The songs in the background (The Dance and I Hope You Dance) were both played at my sister-in-laws funeral a few days before. She had lost her fight with cancer, and I prayed for your little girl to be spared. I'm saddened to see that she didn't make it, but I believe God has plans for each of us. And she is now healthy and painfree in his loving embrace. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Catie was diagnosed about three weeks after Steven.

I remember your family in particular because there was a suspicion that Steven had Gorlin's and you shared some information with me about it.

As a Make-A-Wish volunteer, I had the great pleasure of meeting little miss Catie last year, as we made plans for her to visit Cinderella (her favorite) at DisneyWorld last September. I'm so blessed to have known this little angel and her wonderful family. My heart grieves for them. I love the time we shared pizza and wore our Cinderella rings as we all gathered together for the "Bon Voyage" party before Catie left for her exciting trip. What a precious memory! She was in the arms of a loving family then and I know she is in the arms of a loving Heavenly Father today! As a believer in Jesus Christ, I know I will get to see her again one day.. I can't wait!

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Wilkins,

I am so sorry to learn of Cati's passing. It was a year and a half ago that I first met her at the Ronald House Golf Tournament and she was a very charming young lady to say the least. Her affection for cherries out of Cokes was a hit with all. My wife sent her a lot of cherries over the past year and a half. We are saddened beyond words at your loss.
