Family-Placed Death Notice
LUMAR, Darren Mr. Darren ("Chip") Anthony Lumar, 38 passed Thursday, November 6, 2008. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 15, 2008 11 a.m. at Living Faith Tabernacle 5880 Old Dixie Rd. Forest Park. Pastor, Chris Bowen, Officiating. Interment Pine Ridge Memorial Park, Kennesaw. Remains in state at 9:00 a.m. Darren was the father of Sydney Kiara Lumar (9yrs.), and Carrington Alexander Lumar (7yrs.) He is survived by his mother, Vernadean Underwood; father, Harold Lumar; stepfather, Charles Underwood; brother, Dana Lumar; grandmother, Mrs. Sylvia August; loving companion, Dr. Yamma Brown Lumar; 3 nephews, Blaylon, Kendall, and Daniel Lumar; niece, McKinsey Lumar; godmother, Mrs. Catherine Packer, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends. Darren was preceded in death by his brother, Darwin Christopher Lumar; maternal grandfather, Emile August, Sr.; paternal granparents, Alma and Horris Lumar; father-in-law, James Brown; 3 uncles, Herman, Helmond and Welmond Lumar. Darren was a native of Edgard, LA., and a resident of Roswell, GA. Darren attended West St. John Elementary and West St. John High School in Edgard Louisiana but graduated from Smyrna Christian Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. To the Lumar Family, Darren was a very special friend to me. I called him "Anthony" and we had a very unique spiritual connection. No matter if we had a disagreement, We would always check on one another to make sure all was well. He loved his children dearly and we spoke of our boys as if they were one because they have a few things in common and they share the name "Carrington". Please be comforted in the fact that he was strong in his faith and had a relationship with our father "God". I will always treasure our time together in this life. To Yamma, The children, Mother and all the family. Darrren was and will always be a dear friend. We met in church and became close friends. We worked together and laughed together on many things. My boys loved uncle Darren, and so did we. I pray with all my heart that God will continue to watch over Sydney and Carrington("CC" is what I called him). I had the pleassure of meeting and talking with Darren's mother while she visited Darren in sugarland. I know I will see my brother again.
