David HUSTON

1941 - 2017

HUSTON, David Wesley "Dave" 1/15/1941 3/22/2017 David "Dave" Huston died at Hospice Atlanta after a short illness. He was born in Hoschton, GA on January 15th, 1941 to W.D. and Johnnie Huston and grew up in Lawrenceville, GA. He received a BBA degree from Georgia State University and started his career at C&S Bank in Atlanta. There he met Julie Winn whom he married in 1965. They have two living children, Amy and Rob. After a brief stay in Chattanooga in the early 1970s, the family returned to Atlanta, and he spent the rest of his career at Morgan Stanley in the Municipal Bond Department, retiring in 2001. Dave was very active in St. Anne's Episcopal Church, having at times been a vestry member, lay reader, choir member, office volunteer and a member of his special lunch group, the ROMEOs. He also served on several committees of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta: the Finance Committee, the Budget Committee and the Executive Board. In retirement Dave, a loving husband, father and grandfather, enjoyed special times with his family. He also enjoyed photography, daily crosswords and reading. He and Julie enjoyed traveling to Maine, Alaska, Italy, the British Isles and to Walt Disney World with their grandchildren. Dave is survived by his wife of 51 years, Julie, his children Amy Goetze (Ed) and Rob Huston (Nancy), grandchildren David, Stevie and Tommy Goetze, and Jennifer Huston, Nikki Bowen and John Robertson. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son David Winn Huston. The family is grateful for the loving care provided by Piedmont Atlanta Hospital and Hospice Atlanta. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 25th, at 2:00 pm at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 3098 Saint Anne's Lane NW, Atlanta, GA 30327, followed by a reception in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Anne's Episcopal Church, or to Hospice Atlanta, 1244 Park Vista Drive, Atlanta, GA 30319.
