To the Wimby Family:
I was greatly saddened when I heard about Mr. Eugene Wimby's passing. He was one of my father's best friends from childhood in the Old Fourth Ward. As an adult, I communicated with Mr. Wimby at First Congregational Church while I was in Atlanta. Once I moved to Texas, I enjoyed hearing how Mr.Wimby was doing on my visits back to Atlanta, and it was good to talk with him on those visits. He was a good person, and a faithful friend to my father, John Buck.
To his son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and other family members, I hope you have good memories of Mr. Wimby, and as we would say in south Texas, "Dios te bendiga" --May God bless you.

Nicky and family,
Please remember that the dead in Christ shall rise and those of us who are still alive when the Lord descends from Heaven with a shout, and Gabriel blows that trumpet, we shall be caught up in together with them in the clouds and Jesus will welcome us home. IThessalonians 4:16&17. Your dad will be there to greet his family and friends. So we can look forward to the day when the last enemy is destoyed and God will wipe away all of our tears. ICorinthians 15:26. What a joyous day it will be. So remember as you weep, Jesus said He would turn your sorrow to joy (John 16:20). And He will send The Comforter to comfort you (John 14:16 and John 15:26). Lean on Him as hard as you need to and for as long as it takes. There is no time limits or restraints on God. He will never say to you "That is enough", or "It's time to move on." He will always say "I will never leave or forsake you." Hebrews 13:5. When you can't talk to anyone else, please talk to HIM!! He will understand.
Love,
Cheryl Hickman-Jones

Nicky,
You were there 10 years ago when I lost my mom and I will forever love you for your support. My aunt just told me about your loss. I am especially sorry that I am out of town during this time for you.
GOD never brings you to any point that HE cannot carry you through. Reflect on all the times your dad made you laugh and that alone will consumeyour down times. I can think of quite a few myself.
Death is not the end.
Death is the road.

Your dad has now traveled the smoothest road of all, the road to the FATHER.
I love you like the brother you've always been to me and you are continually in my prayers.

Mr Wimby was like a family member to me. From time to time I would see him in the grocery store or a resturant. His smile and coversation always put me in the mind of a Uncle or father. To the family of Mr. Eugene Wimby: I share fond memories of Mr. Wimby as my high school Counselor (B.T.Washington) and as a co-worker (Fulton Atlanta Community Action Authority, Inc.). Mr. Wimby was so pleasant, sociable and helpful to everyone. He never met a stranger and held a memory of nearly all his students, friends and even their families. Kindness was simply his fabric and I will smile as I remember the many incidents that came up in the work environment, especially those that remind me of the Senior Citizens he would help no matter how much assistance they needed or how far they needed to go in a moment of emergency.
God was with him all along and now he can join the heavenly realm where he belongs.
Sincere Sympathy, along with the family of FACAA.
