Frances Keaton Obituary

KEATON (Webb), Frances

Frances Webb Keaton, born September 28, 1929, Damascus, GA, and passed away January 29, 2025.

Devoted wife to Jim Keaton for 51 years until his death. Survived by daughters, Kay Keaton Damerow (Chris) and Kim Keaton Brown (Mike); grandchildren, Michael Brown, Amanda Damerow Ortiz (Ramiro), Kory Lee Puckett (Tyler), Alex Damerow (Brenna); great-granddaughter, Charlotte Puckett.

Frances was an elementary school teacher before her girls were born, then taught again at Kimball Bridge Elementary 1974-1990. She loved teaching children and always kept those 4th graders in her heart!

She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church; an active member at East Point First Methodist, Mt. Zion UMC in Marietta and then Sandy Springs UMC.

After retiring, she became a Northside Hospital Auxiliary volunteer for 25 years and was a member of the Puppeteer Program who visited and performed at elementary schools in the Metro Atlanta area.

Many friends knew her as "Frankie" over the past 50 years. Both she and Jim had wonderful memories while living in Rolling Acres subdivision in Marietta, before moving to Mount Vernon Towers in Sandy Springs where she was a resident for 21 years.

Services will be held in the Sunrise Chapel at Arlington Memorial Park, Sandy Springs, GA, on Saturday, March 8, at 3:30 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held afterward in the Dining Room at Mount Vernon Towers, 5:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to M.U.S.T. Ministries or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of your wonderful mother. My family lived next door to your family many, many years ago before we moved to Tennessee, and my mother forged a life-long friendship with this clever, caring and sharp woman. I've heard many stories over the years, and although I was so young that I don't remember much of that time, I do remember your family's kindness. Especially your Mom's. Peace and strength be with you as you move through this difficult time, and may you be comforted by the many warm and fun memories of this amazing woman. Frances Keaton is a name that I have heard for many years, and I know that even though she and my mother, Sue, didn't get to speak to her nearly as often as she would have Iiked, she has always cared for her very much and thought so much of her.
