Family-Placed Death Notice

STEINMETZ, Grace P. GRACE PRESLEY STEINMETZ Grace Presley Steinmetz, 96, died Friday evening June 8, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Marietta, GA. She was the daughter of James Daniel and Florence McLarty Presley of Decatur, and the wife of the late Atlanta transportation pioneer, John C. Steinmetz. In later years, Grace and John were fond of traveling to many places around the globe and spending time at their part time residence at Sanibel Island, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Frank, William and Travis Presley, a sister, Mary Francis Arnold, one daughter Charleen S. Brega (William), and by her beloved husband, John. She is survived by two daughters, Carole S. Hoag (Phillip) of Pisgah, AL and Janice S. McMurrey (Rod) of Canton, GA, one son, John S. Steinmetz (Patti) of Marietta, GA, ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her devoted caregivers, Tamara Carrillo and Rosimarí Cesar. Grace was a 65 year member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer where she served her church in many volunteer capacities. Visitation will take place from 1 to 2 PM, Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 731 N. Peachtree St, Atlanta, with services immediately to follow at 2:00 PM. Interment will be at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, GA. Arrangements by H.M. Patterson & Son Arlington Chapel. To My Loving Family.

I pray you all know how much I am missing my beloved grandmother. I am heartbroken that I fell on the way out of town, and could not walk (much less make a 13 hour drive). I wanted so desperately to be there. I pray that everyone is ok.

I love you ALL. I pray that Gerry and I can come home from Texas soon.

Love always,

Susan

Sincere condolences to Carole, Jan, John and all of your families. We know how much you loved her. She was such a special lady. Those that knew her were always touched by her smile, her graciousness and kindness. She is very much apart of the good memories I have of Niskey Lake. Peace be with you.
With love,

We were three of the many lucky Niskey Lake kids. Growing up as we did in each others' backyards, we thought of Grace as another mother. Janice and John, you will always be our neighbors. Those memories will last for all time. Love goes out to your families. Your loss is ours, too. - Claudia, Lynn & Terry
