Holmes Fowler Obituary
Family-Placed Death Notice
Mr. Walt Fowler, 83, of Atlanta, GA, died Sunday, June. 3, 2007, after suffering a stroke. He was born in Union, SC, on November 5, 1923. He served as a Lt. Col. in the Air Force. Mr. Fowler was a graduate of Clemson University. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bobbie (Petty) Fowler of Knoxville, TN; two sons, Craig Fowler of Newnan, GA, and Keith Fowler of Lilburn, GA; and four grandchildren. He was a charter member of Briarcliff Baptist Church, a member of the LaVista Lions Club, and member of the Silver Wings fraternity. Mr. Fowler retired from Georgia Power Co. in 1994. A memorial service will be held at Briarcliff Baptist, 3039 Briarcliff Rd, NE, Atlanta, on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Briarcliff Baptist Church in memory of Walt Fowler. Bobbie, and family. Your husband/father was a true friend when I lived across the street from them a few years ago. What a treat it was to see him out cutting the grass with his shorts on and his high socks - and we shared wine together when we weren't stacking furniture up to avoid the next flood. I am truly sorry for your loss. Michele
