Family-Placed Death Notice
SILVA NETO, Jaime Jaime De Assuncaó e Silva Neto Jaime de Assuncaó e Silva Neto, 45, of Atlanta, Ga, died February 15, 2012, at Atlanta Medical Center. Jaime was born on July 10, 1966 in Grajau-MA Brazil to Joao Manoel de Assuncaóe Silva and Marize de Assuncaó e Silva. Jaime was co-owner of Silva and Thomas Hair studio. In 1989 he came to the US to pursue his dreams. While successful in business his legacy was to befriend everyone he meets, with a whole heart. His interests included family, friends, gardening, home projects, weekends at the cabin in the N. Georgia Mountains and summers at the beach. He celebrated life each day and invited everyone along for the ride. "I did it my way." Jaime is survived by his partner of 13 years, Todd; his parents; sisters, Ana Marcia, Solange, Nilma; brothers, Joao Manoel Filho, Carlos Cesar, Francisco; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; and his dogs, Bella and Georgia. At his request, a Celebration of Life reception will be held at 4pm Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 169 Little St. Atlanta, GA 30315. Guests are asked to bring a blue helium balloon to the celebration. A funeral service will be held Monday, February 20, 2012 at 1pm at The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 353 Peachtree St NE Atlanta, GA 30308. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross of Metro Atlanta.

Jaime, I can't believe you are gone. My heart is so heavy. I have always remembered with a smile in my heart and on my face our early years, your beautiful accent and your beautiful eyes, the way you said Miranda's name and how you sang "I'm Proud To Be An American..." My sympathy and condolences to Todd and your family with all of my heart. I love you and always have.

I really can't believe you are gone. I can't believe that when you gave me a hug in December, it was the last one. We will miss your laughter. I hope that although you won't be there to make me beautiful at my wedding, your spirit will be there having a blast at the party.

Jaime's smile could light up a room and he made the world a better place. I always looked forward to my day at the salon chatting about vacation destinations and sharing pictures of our miniature schnauzers. He was an amazing talent and a wonderful person. Still so stunned at Jaime's loss. Sincere condolences to Todd and J's family, many of whom I'd see at the salon – laughing and joking with each other. And Jaime always talking about the NC house, the dogs and Todd. And asking me the name of a plant that he'd describe with that great accent, "you know, it's green and has those flowers!"
