James Richardson Obituary

RICHARDSON, James T.

Engineer, Bell South (Retired)

Died September 20, 2021, James Thomas Richardson, at Georgia War Veterans' Nursing Home in Augusta. A son of the late Agnes Steed Richardson and Joseph Richardson, Sr. of Atlanta, he was a graduate of Atlanta Public Schools and The Georgia Institute of Technology. He served in The United States Army at Fort Benning, Georgia, and retired as an engineer from Bell South. He enjoyed years of volunteer work in public schools, the arts, and civic and church organizations.

He is survived by his wife, Eve Moseley Richardson, Augusta; son, Mark S. Richardson, Ph. D. and his wife Yassy, Kyoto, Japan; daughter, The Reverend Dr. Susan E. Richardson, Philadelphia; grandson, Luke Candler Brown, Princeton.

The family are grateful for the caring support of A. Jay Dennis, Sr., M.D.; Betty K. Sosnin; Dr. and Mrs. Allen Smith; W. Wynn Riley; Dr. and Mrs. J. W. Garvey; Linda Leslie Bradberry.

Due to coronavirus, no church gathering is planned. Donations may be made to Georgia Public Television; National Public Radio; and Endowment Fund, St. John United Methodist Church, Augusta.

Jim, I am so sorry for your father's death. It is a lonely feeling for sure when your Daddy is gone. I am assuming this is your father. If not, I am sorry anyway.
