Family-Placed Death Notice

Mr. Joe Whit Walker, age 74, of Bethesda Church Road, Carrollton passed away Sunday, June 10, 2007. Mr. Walker was the founder of Walker Cadillac, Pontiac, Buick, GMC in Carrollton which he founded in 1959. Survivors include his wife, Katherine Redding Walker; his children, Gregory Whit and Jan Walker and Wanda Marie and Bill Calhoun; grandchildren, Whitney Lynn Walker, Nicholas Copeland Walker, Katherine Marie Chewning, Madeline Ann Chewning and Ross Aaron Chewning; a brother, Henry Fred and Frances Walker all of Carrollton. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at 2:00 PM from Tabernacle Baptist Church. The body will be placed in state at the church at 1:00 PM and the family will receive friends at the church during that time. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 4 until 8 PM. Interment will follow the service in the Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made either to Tabernacle Baptist Church Building Fund, 150 Tabernacle Drive, Carrollton, GA. 30117 or the Tanner Medical Center Foundation, 705 Dixie St., Carrollton, GA. 30117. Messages of condolences may be sent to the family at www.martin-hightower.com. Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel of Carrollton has charge of the arrangements.
