Not sure what to say?

My condolences to all the family. I had the pleasure on knowing John at PSU as an Army ROTC cadet with him, class of 1959 as well. John was our Army ROTC Cadet Colonel as the ranking Cadet of the Brigage. I was a cadet LTC Bn cmdr under him. Even then we cadets were in awe of his excetional military bearing and expertise and knew he would go far in a military career. Our class was exceptional ROTC cadets and many of us likewise had great military careers. I too served in Vietnam with the 1st Air Cav during the period 1965-1966 as a helicopter pilot during the IA Drang conflict and served under two Medal of Honor receipients. Unfortunately I never had an assignment under John but to have known him was an inspiration and I did follow his career at times when I was aware of his assignment, certainly in Desert Storm. Our country was blessed to have his leadership and PSU can be proud to have had him as an ambassador. God bless.

It was my great pleasure -- and a highlight of my career -- to have served as part of LTG Yeosock's staff during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. I met him again after we both had retired when he visited my work site in Saudi Arabia in 1998. I was pleased that he even remembered me -- a measure of the man.

To the family of Lieutenant General Yeosock, I am the proud Aunt of a fallen solider and a nephew currently serving in the United States Navy. My dear friends told me about your loved one and about the service. On behalf of my entire family, please accept our deepest condolences on the loss of such a great man who gave so much of himself for our country. There are not enough words to thank him for his dedication and service, not for self but for country, if you will allow me to toss in some Navy jargon. I understand he rarely spoke of what he did and that just proves what I already know – the best in the world are those who serve in the United States military. I can imagine that you miss the husband, father, grandfather and friend now much more than the solider. I regret that I never had the chance to meet Lieutenant General Yeosock. There would have been so much I would have wanted to ask but because he was such a humble man, he probably would have wanted to know about my nephews. My friend sang “Another Soldier's Going Home” at his service. I can't think of a more appropriate song for your beloved solider. He is at peace, with his loving God. I pray you will be at peace knowing that you will see him again through the love of Jesus. There are no wars in heaven, no more battles to fight. Truly rest in peace Lieutenant General Yeosock. You made the world a safer place.
