Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Walsh Family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of Army 1st Lt. Jonathan P. Walsh. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.

I have thought about you often over Christmas and New Years, knowing that the first holiday period without a loved one is especially difficult. I don't know whether you still check this guest book, but I am sure that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many as 2013 begins. Jonathan and the other Georgia soldiers lost in 2012 are not forgotten--will never be forgotten.

My name is Andrew Norris. I doubt that you know me but I served with your husband while at Officer Candidate School (OCS) in 2010 at Ft. Benning, GA. There really aren't words to convey the sorrow I feel. I will never forget Jonathan and the sacrifices he made for this country. It was an honor to await the arrival of 1st Lt Walsh this morning at the air force base and to stand in flag line with the rest of my Patriot Guard Riders as well as to escort him to his final destination. Jonathan was alsways a great friend, classmate, fellow team mate, helper, motivator. J.P. was in school with me and I even rode the bus with him at times. He was plain out a great and awesome individual. He was great and passionate in all the things he did. He will live on in my heart, his memory will never leave me. He made all who came in contact with him better for having spent time around and with him. I am US Army Veteran, but he was a friend and fellow teammate, then later became a battle buddy. It was a pleasuer to know JP. My son Nathan played baseball with JP at North Cobb High school and Adams Park prior to high school. JP was such a happy young man, always had a smile on his face and he was always willing to help anyone with a need. Rest in peace JP, your family will remain in our prayers.

I did not have the privilege of knowing your son, but I want to say I'm so so sorry for your loss. I have two sons and a daughter and I cannot imagine this loss. I also want to say I am so thankful for young men and women like your son who risk their lives to serve and protect my family. My son attends North Cobb now and he is in NJROTC.
