Susan,
Long story why we are just now seeing that Joe has passed away. We are sorry for your loss. We remember you and Joe fondly from our times in Stone Mountain and Tucker. Joe was always ready to assist with any project or task. We often use his term "hit a fuzzy lick" when we accomplish a chore successfully. As we know you have heard many times, he was one of the good guys. May you have peace and comfort in your memories.

We didn't know Joe as well as we would have liked, but knew in the first minute we met him that he was a remarkable man. This was made even more clear in his service yesterday. His life stories are the things most of us see in movies. We will always remember Susan on horseback riding Hasty Trail, stopping to ask about our family and especially our disabled dog. Very caring.

Much love and prayers to all of you. Mr. Hannah was my favorite. I think he was at every single one of our SHS Chorus events. We loved having him there. Everyone especially loved his BBQ at our big fundraising event. He was special to us all and we'll hold those memories dear.

Susan and Family
Joe was one of the great ones. A kind, compassionate, gentle man. His love of life was contagious and energy level amazing. I loved listening to him talk about growing up in the NC mountains, his time in Vietnam, family history and politics I can still hear his voice and laugh in my head. Joe was respected and loved by everyone he knew. I was honored to be his friend. He will be greatly missed. God bless him.

Farewell Col. Joe. May your final flight take you into the glory of Heaven to greet you with all the love you shared during your lifetime. You were loved, appreciated, and respected. Susan and family will miss you terribly. As will your multitude of friends. Buzz and I are honored to have known you and salute your service to our country.
