Dear Louise and family,
Kathy and I wanted to convey our sincerest condolences to you and your family. As you know, Joe was a humble giant of Thoracic Surgery and we feel very privileged to have known him and considered him a friend. We will always remember the kindness that you and he offered to us over the years. We genuinely hope that on January 15 (and beyond, of course) all of you will celebrate the meaningful life that Joe led and the innumerable lives he touched in a positive and beneficial way.

We send Love and care to the Miller family, our friends and neighbors for more than 40 years. Joe was the model Southern Gentleman for our sons. We will always remember Joe's smile and the great times we shared with the Millers. Thanks for your years of friendship to our family.

Saddened for the loss of Joe Miller.
He was an extraordinary instructor and knew how to "peel back the onion" and seek deeper meaning in the subject matter at hand.

Louise, Joe, and family,
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Joe from 1991 until the time he retired. He was always very dedicated to his patients and would do everything in his power to help them. In addition, he was always approachable and friendly both in and out of the operating room. He will certainly be missed.

Louise, Joe and Laura:
I have had the pleasure of knowing your family for over 30 years but knew about Joe from the late 60's from the medical world. No words can describe how wonderful this person was in so many walks of life. He will truly be missed by everyone.

To the Miller family, please accept my heartfelt condolences. So saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Dr Miller. As a circulating nurse of many years on the Cardio-thoracic team, we shared many hours, stories, and laughs together in the Operating Room of Crawford Long/Emory Midtown Hospital. Dr Miller consistently treated everyone with the utmost respect and kindness. Over the years, I watched as he patiently taught countless residents the skills he acquired in his many years as an accomplished thoracic surgeon. Always willing to help, he had no problem grabbing a mop in preparing for a to-follow surgery. An awesome surgeon, mentor, co-worker, and friend - I am honored to have known and worked with this incredible man.

What a wonderful man that has truly inspired so many of us to be a better person. Joe Miller gave so much of himself without prejudice to so many people. I have had the pleasure of being his friend and he has always been eager to help me in ways I can't explain. Joe Miller surely taught us all how to be a good christain and showed us all to live a good moral Christian life.
For now Joe Miller I say goodbye, but soon we shall meet again.
Your friend for eternity~Linn Murphy
