Dear Becky, Grant, Sonya,
My heart was saddened by the passing of McHoyt. Prayers and thoughts are with you as you continue your journey to heaven without him.
My fondest memories of the years I attended Old Suwanee Church was the revivals and how you could feel the Holy Spirit and conviction with souls being saved. Becky, I can remember one time during a morning service that the Holy Spirit was moving so strong, it started raining and people had to run outside to let up their car windows. Of course, that hindered the service. God used me to teach a Sunday School Class that Dickie Parker was in. The Lord called him home not too long after that.
Harvey and I were married by McHoyt on December 18, 1965. I can remember daddy telling him, he was no "indian giver". This made McHoyt laugh.
Becky, you and your family have always had a special place in our hearts and our memories. God has used you and McHoyt to touch and transform many lives.
We will always love you and remember you in our prayers.
Grant and Sonya, hold on to the precious memories you have of your Dad and serve the Lord as he did.

Dear Mrs. Becky, I am so glad that God granted me the privilege of being under the ministry of such a godly man as Preacher Moore during my earliest and most formative years. These meager lines cannot even begin to express the deep impact the both of you have had on my life. I will miss him greatly and will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Dear Sis. Becky, I'm so very thankful to have had Preacher Moore and you in my life. I don't remember a time that I didn't know the two of you. O how blessed Joey and I are to have had Preacher Moore's support and guidance as he conducted our wedding, celebrated with us upon the births of our children. During the sad times, Preacher Moore was ALWAYS there to pray with us and offer support, no matter what time of day or night. I will always be grateful for the positive impact that you've shown in my life and the strong foundation that has been laid out for my children as they continue to receive a godly education at OSCS. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Our hearts have been saddened with the graduation of Preacher Moore. We appreciated his Godly wisdom. Our favorite quote of his - "Even if you have to live in a tent and drink creekwater, give your children a Christian education!" With the Lord's help, we'll accept that challenge with our 4 children. His was an inspiration to us of a successful life well-lived for God's glory.

My deepest sympathy for you all during this trying time. I know that Preacher Moore meant a lot to a lot of people and I am no different. His character helped to mold me in ways that I cannot begin to describe on paper--he was one of the most astutue men I've encountered in my life. His life has meant so much to me and my family and that makes it so much harder to hear of his passing. He's in a better place now, but know that he didn't leave here without a wake that will outlast him for a long time.

Mrs. Becky, we were saddened to hear of your great loss here on earth, but also rejoice knowing that Preacher Moore has entered into the heaven he preached about so often. We have no doubt that Preacher Moore was greeted with the precious words: Well done, thou good and faithful servant... We will be praying for you and ask that God give you great grace at this difficult time. We are sorry that we were not able to attend the funeral, but Wendy has just given us the internet site where we will have the privilege of listening to the service. Wendy said that it was a very moving service. She espeically appreciated the message that Brother Tim Campbell brought. We will always appreciate the kindness and love that you, Preacher Moore, and the folks at Old Suwannee showed to us and our family during our time with you. Our love and prayers are with you.

Dear Sis. Becky and family,
We lack for words as we try to tell you what you and Bro. Moore have meant to us down through the years. Bro. Moore was such a great blessing to our family and to all of us here at Macedonia World Baptist Missions. The whole world has been enriched by his wonderful love and because he knew how to share that love. Thank you for being one of the very first churches to take us on as your missionaries to Mexico twenty two years ago and for faithfully loving us and praying for us all these years. Sis. Becky, I promise to be praying for you. If we can be of any help please let us know.

Mrs. Becky, Sonya and Grant:
Your family has been a special blessing in my life from the time I was a small child through my adult life. Pastor Moore and Mrs. Becky were there for me through many times of sorrow and turmoil in my life. The impact Preacher made in my children's lives is more powerful than words can express. There has never been a more powerful spiritual leader in my life and I will miss knowing he is here to turn to. I know that the friendship he had with Dad has been rekindled in the past few days and that brings joy to me. Thanks for all your love and support for my family throughout the years.

Ms. Becky, Sonya and Grant: when one just names the name of Preacher Moore many thoughts of holiness, godliness, humbleness and boldness in God's Word come to mind. I am eternally thankful and so humbled to have grown up under his preaching. Preacher Moore's unwavering faith and empowerment from the Holy Spirit have always awed and inspired me to be as reliant upon the Lord. Preacher Moore was the most godly example of Jesus that I have ever seen in my life; he truly lived the Bible for all to see.

I have never had the privilege of meeting Rev. Moore, except through the impact he made on his daughter, Sonya. I'm a pastor in St. Augustine at Sonya's church, and work alongside her each Sunday leading God's people in worship. As I see her love for God as it is expressed in both her voice and playing, I now know from whence it sprang.
Thank you for the opportunity to share in the services via the internet.

I was a lost teenager that went to a revival service one Monday night in August, 1969. I was there because the dad of the girl I was dating asked me to go. Didn’t want to, but I wanted to keep seeing this girl and felt I should do what he asked. The guest preacher that week at Bethabra Baptist Church was McHoyt Moore. The Holy Spirit of God slew me that night, convinced me of my sin, drew me by His grace and regenerated me by His spirit. I am forever grateful for this faithful country preacher that God used in my life. Rodney Queen ([email protected] http://www.rodneyqueen.com http://www.centralfellowship.org)

More than 30 years ago I met Bro. Moore at a preachers meeting. As the years pasted he became a very good friend. Really more than a friend. He through the church supported me financially as a missionary, faithfully prayed for me and was a continual encouragement and blessing.

I want you to know that I have been praying for you all. Preacher Moore was very dear to my heart and I loved him so much. He was always there when I needed something and always knew when to tell me a joke to cheer me up. I will never forget how good he was to me. I will miss him just as many others will, but his impact left on this world made such a difference and he will always be remembered.

1 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
Over 30 years ago I entered the sanctuary of the Old Suwanee Baptist Church as a guest. I sat in the back of the church. It was the first time I had ever seen McHoyt. I do no remember exactly what he said. What I do remember is that as McHoyt spoke another voice began speaking to me. Isaiah calls it a voice behind you. To Elijah it was a still small voice. The voice was using the vocal chords of McHoyt to reveal to me my spiritual condition. "You need a Savior!” the voice gently spoke. "Christ died for you", it whispered. My heart melted that morning. I made a decision in the back of the church. I opened the door to my heart and Jesus walked in. God appeared to me that morning at Old Suwanee. He had wavy hair and dark glasses. His voice was the voice of McHoyt and by with that voice He changed my life.
God made our paths cross for a brief period of time. I will remember McHoyt with fondness and I praise God for His life and ministry.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

In your loss and in your loneliness
remember you are never quite alone...
When sorrow comes along
our Lord knows when we're hurting...
And it is then He surrounds us
with the blessed comfort of
His abiding love.
May it somehow help
to ease the sorrow that you bear,
to know that thoughts are with you now in sympathy and prayer.

Preacher Moore was a dear friend to my daddy and Jesse's daddy. My daddy cherished his friendship and talked alot about when I was a child how much Preacher Moore meant to him and his Christian Walk. Preacher Everett also, talked about Preacher Moore and the young years of his ministry preaching together in Churches and then working together in Macedonia Missions. Truly God Blessed Preacher Moore with compassion and love for souls. Preacher Moore baptized me more than 40 years ago. I will never forget this kind and loving pastor of years ago.
I always heroed He and Ms. Becky for the compassion they had for me as a child. When we would meet up
they were always so nice and friendly. WE know you will miss Preacher Moore, but this is not the end, Preacher Moore has just begun to live!!

Becky and Family , We are so sorry to hear of Hoyt's passing. We know that if there ever was a true man of GOD, he was. We became friends thru our mothers but connected as family thru our faith in god. Hoyt was such a good man and and a extremely humble man. He was always the same no matter how bad he felt or whatever the cituation was, he always had the word of God for all his fellow man. He has touched many, many lives thru his years as a minister, not only will he be missed by his immediate family but by his spiritual family also. We call it a privilage to have known such a fine person as Hoyt. He will truley be missed. If we can be of any help now or in the days to come, Call us..Love to you all...
