Louisa Hunter Obituary

HUNTER, Louisa Warner Harbin Louisa Harbin Hunter died at home in Atlanta on Saturday, October 11, 2014. Louisa Warner Harbin was born in Rome, Georgia on January 14, 1944, the daughter of Elizabeth Coghill Warner and William Pickens Harbin, Jr., M.D. She graduated from Thornwood in 1962 and received a degree in Music History from Hollins College, Virginia, in 1966. She spent the year 1964 in Paris as part of the Hollins Abroad-Paris program. On September 16, 1967, Louisa Harbin married Guy Oliver Hunter. They lived in Brooklyn, New York until they divorced in 1986. Louisa and Guy have two children: William Frierson Hunter (Allison) and Katherine Warner Hunter (Erik Eidsvik). Grandchildren are Cameron, Mason, Elizabeth, and Emerson Hunter; and Graham and Max Eidsvik. Survivors include sisters Elizabeth Harbin Hunter (John) of New York, New York and Anna Phillips Harbin of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and two nieces and a nephew. Louisa was preceded in death by her parents, and by her sister, Mary Shelor Harbin. Louisa continued to live in Brooklyn until 2007 when she moved to Atlanta. Throughout the 1980s she worked for Channel 13 (the New York Chapter of PBS), then later for Aguayo & Knox, a Brooklyn real estate firm. During her years in Brooklyn, she sang in various choirs and choral groups. Instead of sending flowers, friends are invited to make donations to Michelle Nunn for U.S. Senate at http://www.michellenunn.com or Jason Carter for Governor at https://carterforgovernor.com/contribute/ in Louisa Hunter's memory. Service and burial will take place at noon on October, 17, 2014 in Myrtle Hill Cemetery with the Reverend Janice Bracken- Wright officiating.

So sad and shocked. My condolences to her wonderful children, grandchildren and all who loved Louisa. She was such a bright light in my life . We shared many happy days in Brooklyn and enjoyed real estate together. She will be missed.
