Marguerite Gressly Obituary

Family-Placed Death Notice

GRESSLY, Marguerite Marguerite S. Gressly, 86 of Woodstock, GA passed away Sunday, November 15, 2009. She was born March 23, 1923, Buffalo, NY to William E. & Emma Deck Schwing. Marguerite was the mother that everyone else wanted. Her sweet and gentle nature captured the hearts of many who adored her. Somehow neighbors and friends would suddenly appear at the house around dinnertime and understandably so. She spread her joy through preparing delicious meals for others and had an infectious laugh that would welcome anyone. Even during her illness her spirits remained incredibly optimistic and she maintained a delightful sense of humor that could easily catch you off guard. She enjoyed crocheting and watching old movies in her spare time. "Peggy" was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip O. Gressly and her sister Janet Back. She is survived by her son and his wife, Phillip W. & Pam Gressly, daughters and their husbands, Patrice & Richard Tubandt, Phyllis & Ed Sharp, Pamela & Sean Vandermeulen and grandchildren, Leslie Stone, Brandon Tubandt, Brett Gressly, Karl Gressly, Shawn Gressly, Madelyn Gressly, Andrew Kane, Emma Kane and several nieces & nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, November 19, 2009 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Woodstock. Reverend Jaime Riveria will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 490 Arnold Mill Rd., Woodstock, GA 30188. or Heritage Hospice, Inc., 1290 Kennestone Circle, Suite A-213, Marietta, GA 30066. Dear Phillip, Patrice,Phyllis and Pammy
The world is truly a sadder place. Your Mom lit up a room when she was around, that big booming voice just brought smiles when she was there. She was my Mom's best friend, and was always there for her through all the ups and downs. I greive for the loss of a family member.

Dear Phillip, Patrice, Phyllis and Pammy — I was saddened to hear of your mom's passing. She was a fine lady. I'm glad I got to see her a few years ago when Patrice brought her to Mom's while I was there. You are in my prayers. Take care and love to you all,
