Matthew James Buffington, age 31, of Lawrenceville, GA passed peacefully on November 4, 2018. Matt was born March 30, 1987 and graduated from Collins Hill High School in 2006. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Georgia in 2011. Matt was a talented artist, a huge UGA Bulldog fan, and loved watching The Walking Dead and Scrubs. He had a great sense of humor, a big heart, and was a friend to many and loved by all. He loved animals and enjoyed his time working in the veterinary science field. He will be dearly missed by his best friend and the love of his life, Kat, his wife, and Izzy, Rory and Mal. Matt is survived by his wife, Kathleen Henderson Buffington, his parents, Jim and Kathy Buffington, his sister, Nikki Buffington, his grandmother, Carole Sack, and a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Paul Sack, his grandmother, Katherine Buffington, and his uncles, Gary Buffington and Chuck Rice. A Celebration of Matt's Life will be held Thursday, November 8, from 2 to 5 pm at The Traditions of Braselton Clubhouse in Jefferson, GA. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the ASPCA.
