As a clasmate, roomate and Fraternity brother of Matty we enjoyed four years of one of the closest friendships Ive ever had. "Anything for a laugh" was our unspoken code and constant goal. With an inexplicable ability to know exactly what devilment the other was about to launch the other immediately partnered to perpertrate the most proposterious and hilarious jokes and skits on the College Park campus in the 50's. Fake fights at pep rallies were a specialty ,that after others joined in on ,we would enjoy from a safe distance. The fact that we graduated without a misdemeaner charge is quite amazing! Though we lost touch over later years, my family knows Matty very well from the oft told stories I inflict on them-most of which they don't believe. I look forward to meeting him again bye and bye and get back to some good laugh sessions. God"'s peace on all his family. "Moe"

Mr. Flynn, as I said in the other site, I wish I had known you longer than the six months I knew you. I can't imagine what it would have been like to have known you earlier. My fondest memory is when you soaked Liz with the water hose on the terrace where you tended to the plants she placed there for you to care for, and Liz didn't even seem to care!!!....she said that she did this out of love for your son, her husband...I am not so sure about this...I think she must be a saint...I know you felt that she was. We will miss you. God Bless.

May God be with you during this time. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I only know Mr. Flynn from Christian City and I know Liz and her husband Mike. May you be comforted from God above at this time. We thought Liz was Mr. Flynn's daughter only to find out she is his dauther in law! The care she showed to him...What an angel! She is the testimony to Christian Living, and GOD BLESS HER and ALL of you!

My deepest sympathy to the Flynn family. I have a family member at Christian City as well. If it is any consolation I want you to know that seeing you care for your Father In Law made our acceptance of placing my Mother in a home much easier. Daily my wife or myself would see you care for Mr. Flynn, I know your husband must be very proud of you. We will miss Mr. Flynn and especially seeing your smiling face. Our deepest sympathy goes out to you and the rest of Mr. Flynn's family. God Bless. B. Rogers

Matt Flynn - just the name brings a smile to my face. No one knew how to have a better time that that man did ! But above all else, Matt was all about family - he loved all of you fiercely and I know the memory of that love will sustain you in these sad days. Remember the good times - it's what he would have wanted...and keep the memories in your hearts.

Matty, haven't seen you for many years; but, never forgot about you. You were "the best". See ya in the Big Sky some day. Lizard

Readers Digest used to have a section called "Most Unforgetable Characters." Matt Flynn definitely fit there. I had the pleasure of flying with him in the USAF. He was a professional all the way and a pleasure to be around. God speed.

My family enjoyed meeting you Mr. Flynn while you were at Christian City. You were always very happy and had something funny to say...I know Liz will miss you. She was your angel here. I will miss seeing her and you when I visit my mother...she took care of my mom as well as so many others...she was God's blessing to Christian City. God bless you Matt and Liz as well.

To the Flynn family, please accept my sincere condolences. Matt was always a joy to be around and he will be greatly missed here on earth, but those in Heaven are in for a treat, and Lord, make sure he signs the form 40.

Matt was always able to create an upbeat atmosphere, whatever the circumstances. He was a great aviator, a great friend, and always a pleasure to be with. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Time and distance can make a difference, but good memories linger on. We extend our love, thoughts and prayers as you build on contributions that Matt has shared with each of you.
Matt and I were Sigma Chi's @ the University of Maryland, did well in athletics and moved on to fly airplanes in the USAF and, for me, the MDANG.
Matt certainly stood out in a crowd...red hair helped!

To all of us who knew Matt, he will always live in our memories. A fellow pilot who loved life and lived it to the fullest. Happy landings on your "flight west". Thank you for the happy memories you left behind you.
