He was a wonderful soul and will be missed.

Mr. Faas taught me in CCD at OLA when I was in the fifth grade. This was back in the early 1970s. I was disruptive at times; on a couple of instances, he had to ask me to leave the classroom and wait in the hall. This was during an unsettling time in my life -- my parents had just gotten divorced, and I was acting out.
I'd never gotten in trouble before, and being kicked out of Sunday School class was part of a larger wake-up call. While it was so long ago and I only knew him for a short time, I have never forgotten him. The image I have is someone exceptionally kind and patient, but not so much so that he would tolerate an unruly kid who was intent on disrupting class. My condolences to his family, and prayers for Peter.
