Priscilla Laster Obituary

Family-Placed Death Notice

LASTER, Priscilla Pat Laster, a 30 year resident of Hastings, NY, died on Sunday, January 23, 2011, in Atlanta, her home since 2003. Born October 9, 1925 in London, England to the late Morris and Rebecca Rubenstien Merotchnik. Pat immigrated to the US in 1952. The last 40 years of Pat's life was dedicated to sharing her knowledge of YOGA with 'hundreds' of students - literally throughout the world! She started her YOGA practice in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, in 1971 and continued teaching for 18 years at Riverdale & Scarsdale, NY. In 1981, major cruise lines pursued Pat as a guest lecturer, to present her knowledge and practices on healthy life styles. On Crystal Cruise Lines' World Tours, Pat was a celebrated YOGA instructor for 10 years - continuing her "cruising YOGA" through 2009. In 2003, Pat and her husband, Herbert, her loving life partner and friend, moved to Atlanta to be near their adult children, Deborah and Robert. Pat continued sharing her love for YOGA at the Markist Jewish Community Center in Roswell and numerous assisted living centers. Her love & devotion to confronting illness and aging through YOGA, relaxation therapies, and massage is her gift to life. Pat's two children, Deborah and Robert and son-in-law, Bobby, will cherish their mother's memory forever. Friends, from literally all over the world, will truly miss this inspirational, giving lady, who touched their lives. A "Celebration of Life" in memory of Pat is being planned by her loving family.
