Reginald WATSON Obituary

WATSON, Reginald James
It is with sadness we announce that Reg passed away peacefully in Sundre on October 16 at the age of 81, having suffered a massive stroke.
He is survived by his best friend and partner Esther Johnston; his two daughters Leslie (Sandy) and Megan (Wayne) and their mother, Donna. Born in Pincher Creek, AB, Reg worked as a civil engineer in Edmonton and then in Sundre until he retired.
Reg was very active in the Sundre community, a dedicated Olds Grizzly hockey fan and a regular attendee at University of Alberta Alumni events. He enjoyed long walks with his dog Bogie at his farm. The family extends sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at the Calgary Foothills Hospital and Sundre Hospital. At Reg's request there will not be a funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Reg's name.

Dear Donna, Megan & Leslie,
I just read about Reg's passing in the current issue of the UofA alumni magazine. My condolences to you and Reg's family. I recall many wonderful times with you while I lived in Edmonton with Ruth. John passed away this February at age 96 so I share your grief.

Dear Donna Leslie and Megan, Noticed Reg's obituary in the UofA New Trail Magazine.
Our belated, heartfelt sympathy in the loss of your father and friend. Have many good memories of family stories and the working relationship at SWSW&H and later telephone conversations.

Dear Esther, Megan, Leslie, and Donna. I am so sad to hear the passing of Reg, it cam quite as a shock when we read this in the paper this morning. He will truly be remembered as a University of Alberta, Faculty of Engineering, champion. His support for Discover-E and the aboriginal program was not unnoticed, and many appreciated his contributions to assist the next generation of aboriginal children appreciate engineering and science. He will be truly missed by us all. On behalf of the Dr. Lynch, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and the Faculty of Engineering, our sincere condolences.
