I would like to send my prayers to Mr. Hix and the boys. Thank you for being apart of our family and allowing my mother to have a buddy, and my daughter to have the best science project creator the world has seen. I will never forget the impact Mrs. Hix had on my mother helping her to realize a dream. Mrs. Hix is "good people" she says. I will remember her soft voice and kind heart, heaven has another angel. To the Yancey & Hix Families:
Dear Roselyn, sorry to hear about the loss of your sister just remember these words:
If I should ever leave you,
Whom I love
To go along the silent way,
Grieve not,
Nor speak of me with tears.
But laugh and talk of me
as if I were beside you there
For I will come-I'll come!
Would I not find a way,
Were tears and grief not be barriers?
And when you hear a song or see a bird I loved,
Please do not let your thoughts of me be sad.
For I am loving you just as I always have . . .
You who were so good to me!
There are so many thing I wanted still to do-
So many things to say to you . . .
Remember, please, that I did not fear death.
It was just leaving you that was so hard to face.
You cannot see beyond this life
But this you know . . . I loved you so
Never doubt that I am with you still!
For love does not die with the body
And nothing in heaven or on earth
Can keep apart those who love.

The news of Mrs. Hix's passing hit me like a bolt of lightning. To me, Rheatha was not just a coleague - she was a friend. I have not been able to gather courage enough to call or go to sit with John and the boys but I am remembering her in my own quiet way. I will never forget the help she rendered me for the nine years that I taught at Fickett.
An angel has been added to heaven. I will greatly miss her!!
To the Hix and Yancey families, I share the loss and the pain of this great loss. Continue to pray for her soul to rest in peace with the Lord.

To the Hix Family:
Mrs. Hix will be sorely missed at Fickett. My children had come to know her through the after school program and Gifted Field Trips. She was an inspiring person whom I admired very much. Whenever you saw Mrs. Hix she had a smile or something positive to say. My son, Cameron had such a wonderful time with her on his last Gifted trip. He said that he didn't know that "Mrs. Hix could be such a fun person."

Jesus Christ is the one empowered by Jehovah God to redeem mankind. (Hosea 13:14) Jesus said: "I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life." (John 11:25) Jesus demonstrated his God-given power in this regard when he went to the tomb of Lazarus, who had been dead for four days, and restored him to life. (John 11:38-44) Just imagine the joy of those who saw this resurrection or others preformed by Jesus Christ!-Mark 5:35-42;Luke 7:12-16. May this account about Lazarus bring some joy to your family during this time of grief. Knowing that we all have hope of seeing our dead loved ones again.

To the Yancey-Hix family,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your wife and mother. Rheatha was a wonderful person. I had just moved from Albany, NY to Atlanta and got my very first teaching job at Fickett. Rheatha's classroom was next door to mine. She was a life saver to me. I would not have made it through that year without her. She was a constant source of inspiration to me. I use many of her ideas in my classroom today. I think of my first year of teaching often, and think of Rheatha. I am sad that she is gone, and that I never said goodbye to her. I will keep your family in my prayers.

May God continue to bless the family at this hour. Mrs. Hix will be greatly missed. I just had the pleasure of talking with her in July,2005 and laughing about retirement. We worked together at Fickett Elementary School (APS) on the Second grade level (WONDERFUL BULLETIN BOARDS!) and many other committees. Rheatha was very talented and giving. She will be missed but remember, she is resting peacefully in the arms of the Almighty.(Matthew 5:4,Psalm 27:14,Psalm 121:1,and Proverbs 3:5,6) Just a few encouraging scriptures.
