I just heard several days ago about the passing of Tom. Mike and I were very close friends growing up. His dad was a great father and taught me many life lessons.

3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

Ephesians 5:1 - "Therefore, become imitators of God,..." Our Creator is a God of justice (Deuteronomy 32:4). It would be no surprise that Thomas Clayton's life endeavors were based on that fact. May your family be proud of the heritage he left behind.

My heart, thoughts and prayers are with Tom's family, friends, and all employees at Gwinnett County Clerk's Office. For me, a former employee of the Clerk's office, and having the honor of Tom being my boss for ten years, I know I will remember him as being a great person, a great boss, and someone who made a huge difference for many people and Gwinnett County. Thank you Tom for everything you've done for us. We will miss you!

Tom and I grew up together when they moved next door to us in Chamblee. We became very active in the church during our years while we lived next to Tom and his whole family. His mom and Dad were very special people who I can truly say that my life has been made better then and today by knowing them.Tom was a good friend to my wife(Sherry) and myself and we will cherish our memories of Tom when we were growing up and we will miss him. We are saddened by your loss.Harold and Sherry Stamps(Albertville,Al>)

I am very saddened to learn that God has carried Tom home. I know words can't begin to comfort you at this sad time, but please remember how much Tom was loved and admired by all the Clerks across Georgia. He was a great mentor and advisor.
