Tripp Halstead Obituary
On Oct. 29, 2012, Tripp - then 2 years old - was at his Winder day care when a tree branch fell on him, injuring both sides of his brain. The toddler remained in a coma for weeks and was brought home from the hospital nearly 10 months after the accident.
Since then, the family posted regular updates on the Tripp Halstead Updates Facebook account.
On Thursday, March 15, Tripp's father Bill Halstead confirmed his death to Channel 2 Action News.
A memorial service for Tripp will be 7 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at the Jefferson Civic Center, Tripp's mother Stacy Halstead announced. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Civic Center, located at 65 Kissam St, Jefferson, GA 30549. Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson is in charge of the arrangements.

My heart is broken! I havent been in Facebook for a few years now but checked Tripps page occasionally and a few others. Yesterday I learned of a man my age 39 whom I was chat buddies with for many years passed away in 2016 which broke my heart today I found out about Tripp. My heart is crushed. I dont want to look any more I dont want to see this sadness! I know Tripps Whole again and that we can rejoice my heart goes out to Bill and Stacey and families and Im so sorry Im just not learning of this Angels passing into Heaven.

To the most loving caring supportive family I have ever learned I have in my life. I have followed Tripp story since the day we started reading of him on Facebook. My nephew was directing traffic the day of the accident. I now live in Wisconsin but graduated from Winder Barrow high school and still have many friends and family there. To let us into your life at the most painful times made us feel like we are part of your family and we all love Tripp as much as we possibly can from a distance. Your challenges your strength and your gross have inspired thousands of people including myself. Praying for peace and comfort for this entire family and the thousands of people who will miss Tripp .

Tripp was such a brave little boy, and he fault everyday to live his life to the fullest.
