I was truly saddened to hear of his passing and I am delighted to have known such a wonderful person. I met Walter on the campus of JMU and he was always a cheerful, good natured, down to earth type of guy. I am pleased to hear that he touched so many lives. Walter, your example of dignity, kindness, and confidence left an indelible mark on my life while I was a student at USC. Your willingness to open the student center to a small Bible study group allowed me to take important steps in growing my faith. You will be missed but not forgotten.

To the Family,
My prayers are with you during this difficult time. I attended James Madison University with Walter. He was one of my Alpha Brothers. I adored him so much. He always knew what to say to "brighten" my days. I have so many wonderful memories of him. I am really going to miss him. May God strengthen and comfort you. It's was beautiful day on Sunday, and I could tell right away.
Because God himself was up early picking flowers for a Bouquet. First he picked this one, then this one, then that.
Then he picked our fellow classmate/loved one but would not give him back.
And then I asked why, because this one will be missed.
Then he replied back I'm very sorry, but I must insist. You see today I'm picking, the best blooms for an array.

Walt was a special brother who touched many lives through his ability to serve, inspire and bring people together for a greater purpose. We pledged A Phi A together and were blessed to catch up at JMU's Homecoming in November 2013. We love him and we will miss him. May God bless his family. Rest in Peace #11.
