Adam Nelsen Obituary
Adam was a kind hearted man who never knew a stranger. He genuinely cared for and had a special place in his heart for everyone he met. He was born Nov. 3, 1979 in Atlantic, to Glennda and Richard Nelsen. He graduated from Anita High School in 1998, and from Mercy College as a Paramedic. Adam was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard Company A168 Infantry after serving in Afghanistan from 2004 to 2005. He has been employed with the Ankeny Fire Department as a paramedic and firefighter for the past several years.
Adam had a zest for life that did not prepare his family or friends for his passing. He loved cooking for his family, friends, and fire family, traveling with Jennifer, hunting, fishing, and spending time on their boat at Saylorville.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 10 years, Jennifer Bellman Nelsen; his parents, Glennda and Richard Nelsen; sisters, April (Jonathan Hansen) McAfee and Holly (Gary) Hermann; his parents-in-law, Terry (Walt) Beedle and Jim (Paula) Bellman; sister-in-law, Natalie (Mark Lawless) Beeler; nieces and nephews, Hannah and Estelle Hermann, Alex, Cole, Paige and Peter McAfee, and Lauryn Beeler; and a host of friends and extended family members.
