Michael Reynolds Obituary
Michael Keith Reynolds, the son of Edward Eugene and Francis Helen (Kemling) Reynolds, was born March 14, 1953, in Atlantic. He died Nov. 13, 2021, at his home in Waukee, at the age of 68 years, seven months, and 30 days.
Mick "Bucket" Reynolds attended school at Griswold. Mick then moved to Colorado, where he worked at a dairy farm for a short time before working for an oil drilling company. Mick moved back to Griswold in 1989 and that is when he began dating LuAnn Conrad Ruhl. He began working for a construction company and then went to work for a water well company in Slater. Mick purchased his own rig, named "Frank," from the company and paid it off by continuing to work for them. In the early 90's, Mick and LuAnn started Reynold's Drilling. Mick drilled water wells and later did geothermal work. On Feb. 21, 1995, he was united in marriage to LuAnn Conrad Ruhl. Mick continued his business until his accident on July 27, 2020. He and LuAnn moved to Waukee and spent time between Waukee and their home near Grant.
Mick loved going to his grandchildren's events and spending time with his family. Mick was very proud of his work ethic and was known as a "one man show" in the well drilling community, outworking other crews by himself. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing poker with his grandkids and son-in-laws, and with his friends at Attivo Trail, gardening, and his pets. Mick and LuAnn took many vacations. One of his favorite things to do was to drive. He would drive anywhere for himself or someone that had asked. He loved taking off to pick up a vehicle he purchased from another state. Mick enjoyed rebuilding vehicles. Mick and LuAnn were very grateful of the kindness displayed by everyone at Attivo Trail when they moved to Waukee.
Mick is preceded in death by his parents; his brother Ronnie; and his niece Beth Towne.
He is survived by his wife LuAnn Reynolds of Grant; his daughters, Brandi Feltner and husband Cory of Griswold, and Meagan Froehlich and husband Bill of Waukee; his grandchildren Taber Feltner of Iowa City, Tosh Feltner of Griswold, and Lilly and Callen Froehlich, both of Waukee; his brothers and sisters: Max Reynolds and wife Linda of Red Oak, Cheryl Towne and husband Orlo of Griswold, Jim Reynolds and wife Jo Beth of Griswold, and Donna Casey and husband Greg of Griswold; his sister-in-law Linda Herington; his brother-in-law Chris Conrad and wife Linda; his beloved dog Teddy; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A celebration of life visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 23, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Griswold Community Building. Interment will be at Grant Cemetery at a later date. Memorials will be made to Red Oak, Grant and Elliott Fire Departments.
