I first met Father John in the 1970s when I worked at the Catholic Tribune; he was chancellor for the diocese. Although we interacted on business issues, he never stopped being a caring friend, devoted priest, and jovial Irishman. Happy to read he carried these virtues throughout his life and has now arrived at his celestial home.
