Cecil Moon Obituary

Cecil Anthony "Skip" Moon
9/27/1942-7/17/2017

Cecil Anthony "Skip" Moon passed away from complications due to Parkinsons' Disease on July 17, 2017 surrounded by his family. Skip was born on September 27, 1942, in the San Fernando Valley.
In 1978 Skip and his extended family relocated to Northern California and made the Sierra Foothills their home. Skip was an incredible provider for his family, an amazing friend and had work ethics unparalleled.
A devoted husband to his wife, Ann Moon for 46 special years. Skip and Ann worshiped one another and were an example of what a loving relationship is. Ann frequently referred to Skip as her "John Wayne" for his strength, courage and strong moral compass.
Skip is also survived by his son, Jason and Nicole (Jailet) Moon and their three grandchildren; Andrew, Hunter and Matthew. Skip was a giving father and always eager to give of his time and talents, never asking for anything in return.
Skip is also survived by his loving sisters Cheryl (Moon) Trowbridge and Chris (Moon) and Danny Coffman. In addition to several nieces and nephews; Kimberly (McLaurin) and husband Jaeson White along with their two children; Austin and Emaleigh White, Melissa (Trowbridge) Leighton and husband Steven Leighton along with their two children; Kimberlyn and Alana Kovach.
Skip first learned to drive a commercial truck hauling hay at the age of 14. During a career that spanned 53 years he hauled fuel for Arco and drove truck and heavy equipment for Jack Sand and Gravel, but for the majority of his career he worked for Jim Dobbas, Inc. as a derailment specialist. He hauled some of the heaviest special permit loads allowed on the highway during his derailment years. Nothing intimidated him and there was nothing he couldn't do when it came to maneuvering a commercial vehicle. He loved the excitement and all the equipment from which he retired after 35 years.
Above all Skip loved and protected his family and was always there for his friends. He was a true gentle giant and will be remembered for many special qualities. A life time of memories can't be captured In a few paragraphs but rather by the memories shared by those who knew and loved him.
At Skip's request there will be no memorial services. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Parkinson's Foundation in his name.
