Charles Mifkovic Obituary

Charles John Mifkovic
Chief Master Sergeant United States Air Force, Retired
10/7/1926 - 8/4/2012

Born New York City, October 7, 1926 and died unexpectedly in Folsom Calif., August 4, 2012.
Charlie lived and breathed the Air Force for almost 30 years. He loved everything having to do with the numerous aircraft he flew in and serviced during that time. He joined the Army Air Corp in 1945, transitioned to the US Air Force Strategic Air Command in 1956 and proudly served his country until his retirement in 1973. During that time he served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Following the Air Force he retired to Folsom, California and worked with the local US Postal Service for 19 years bringing cheer to the residents of his routes. He always had a positive thought to share. Upon his retirement from the postal service, he and Karolina concentrated on traveling and spending quality time in Hawaii, which they loved. Charlie is survived by sisters, Rose Jun and Mary Mifkovic, of N.Y.; his wife, Karolina, whom he loved dearly; his sons, Charles (Lee Sanfilippo), Eric (Barbara) and Michael (Candace); and daughter, Carol Stiles; in addition to many grand and great-grandchildren. Charlie was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela Marie Mifkovic.
A Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 307 Montrose Dr., Folsom, California on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. A graveside burial ceremony with military honor guard will immediately follow the mass at Lakeside Memorial Lawn Cemetery, 1201 Forrest Street, Folsom, California.
